Managing Content: Uploading, Organizing & Permissions

Updated Feb 9, 20262 min read

Once you understand the hierarchy, here is the practical guide to managing your daily content workflow in Citadel.

1. Managing Playlists & Channels#

The interface for Playlists and Channels is designed to be intuitive.

  • Add Content: Use the Add Content button to select Assets (or Apps) from your library.

  • Add Playlists (Channel Only): In the Channel view, you can also select Add Playlist to nest an entire loop of content.

  • Reordering: Simply click and drag any item in the list to change its playback order.

2. Quick Actions#

On every line item in your playlist or channel, you will see a set of icons for quick management:

  • The Eye Icon (View): Preview the asset to confirm it is the correct file.

  • The Trashcan Icon (Delete): Removes the item from this specific list (it does not delete the original file from your Asset library).

  • The Settings Wheel: Opens the scheduling menu (see Scheduling 101).

3. Collaboration & Permissions#

Citadel is built for teams. You don't have to manage everything alone.

  • Sharing Access: You can grant View or Edit access to specific Playlists or Channels.

    • Use Case: Give your "New York Team" edit access to the New York Channel, but only view access to the Global Brand Assets.

  • Tagging: Always add Tags to your items. This allows you to search, filter, and bulk-manage content later. A well-tagged library is the secret to a scalable network.
