Welcome to Citadel! You are just a few clicks away from transforming your screens into powerful communication tools. This guide covers the high-level basics of how our platform works, focusing on the three main pillars: Media, Apps, and Screens.
The Citadel Workflow
Think of digital signage as a simple 3-step journey:
Upload your content (Files & Apps).
Organize it into a stream (Playlists & Channels).
Publish it to your TV (Screens).
1. Files & Apps (Your Content Library)
Everything starts in the Files/Assets tab. This is your "digital vault" where all your media lives.
Uploading Content: You can drag and drop images, videos, and PowerPoint files directly into the portal. They are stored securely in the cloud, ready to be used on any screen, anywhere.
Using Apps: Citadel isn't just for static images. You can add dynamic Apps—like Weather widgets, News feeds, or Clocks.
Note: In Citadel, Apps are treated just like any other media file. When you configure a Weather App, it saves to your library as a single "Asset" that you can drag into any playlist or channel.
2. Screens (Your Digital Canvas)
The Screens tab is your command center. This is where you monitor your physical devices to see if they are Online, Offline, or Pending.
How to Add a New Screen:
First purchase a Citadel enabled device from your portal
After installation use the PIN shown in the Citadel portal to enable your screen
Content!
3. Connecting the Dots (Channels)
So, how do you get your Files onto your Screens? You use a Channel.
A Channel is simply a "broadcast stream" that you assign to your screen. You can drop individual assets (like a single video) or entire Playlists (a loop of multiple images, videos, and apps) into a Channel. Once a Channel is assigned to a Screen, the screen will download and play that content immediately.
